MOUNT GILEAD, Ohio, U.S.A., June 23, 2003 – The HPM Division of Taylor’s Industrial Services is adding production flexibility to its Freedom Series by offering an electric screw drive option.

“ The Freedom Hybrid machine is in response to our customers’ requests,” explained Gerry Sposato, director of sales and marketing for HPM Division. “The two-platen, hydromechanical Freedom Series is HPM Division’s most popular line of machines. However, there are some applications where customers want the smaller footprint and same clamping force and durability the Freedom offers, but would like to reduce their utility costs. The Freedom Hybrid answers that need.”

In comparing energy consumption, molders using a Freedom Hybrid machine will realize an approximate 30% energy savings compared to the same size non-hybrid Freedom machine, running the same application.

In addition to reduced energy consumption and utility costs, a Freedom Hybrid machine offers reduced machine noise and is cleaner. The electronic drive option is available on any Freedom Series machines, including in combination with the Freedom Rotator option.

During NPE, HPM Division is demonstrating a Freedom Hybrid 1100-WP.

The Freedom Series is a hydromechanical, with hybrid option series in 360 to 5000 US tons, and shot sizes from 14 to 1372 ounces. Its two-platen design gives it a smaller footprint by up to 40 percent (compared to traditional three-platen machines). The Freedom Series also features:

the first retractable tie bar system available in North America for easy, automated mold changes;
improved longevity with fewer leaks;
able to adapt to various injection technologies, including gas-assist, silicone rubber, foam injection, etc.; and
Siemens PC-based TC03 control – a global exclusive for Taylor’s HPM Division – is standard on all Freedom machines.
